Definition: The cone test gives measures of the extent to which the subject moved in the correct direction from the start point to the area of the target platform location, giving the percentages of the time and path that the subject spent in a 15 degree wedge that spreads from the start point to the target platform location. The use of the wedge shape in this test, unlike the parallel sided area of the corridor test, gives a consistent measure of how well the subject knows the direction towards the platform location regardless of its distance from the start point.
